Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop on a Quest to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have discovered numerous interesting indie games. Yet, one stands out for its quirky concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure lets you play a hero that is literally a dung attempting to travel to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is simple: you only need a single jump button. Across one hundred fifty levels, encounter mini-bosses and access a store to buy outfits for your dung hero.

Plan your movements precisely, since one mistake means starting over. Jump on floating orbs to hurl the poop upward, traverse disappearing platforms, and activate switches to reveal hidden paths. Earn currency and use them on challenging game content as things gets crazy.

Graphically, the experience boasts vibrant level designs and an amazing background music. The retro art with morphing basic polygons may remind fans of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though hard to name previous releases where you are a piece of feces, interactive entertainment frequently featured toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can create grenades from character droppings. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as plant food. Unsurprisingly, this theme shows up extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Despite its silly premise, Unko Technica has already earned significant recognition, such as winning at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the full game scheduled to arrive on computers in the fall.
